I would suggest buying and reading Ian Fallon's book titled Ducati Belt-Drive Two-Valve Twins. It contains too much detail on some things, and nothing on others (like swing arm pins and engine case sizes), but it is a good starter if you are behind on the history of these bikes.

PS: if you can get a 1992 750 SS engine, the last year with the Pantah-sized big swingarm pin, that would be the best way to go. Much stronger engine, and bored for 88mm pistons.



If you still need a motor, I have a ready and fresh 1992 750SS race prepared motor, cams, high compression pistons, rods, undercut gears, etc. etc. Fresh valve adjustment and clutch plates. PM if interested, cheers, Tom
