A little problem. The sparkplug won't fit anymore due to loosen and broken thread. See pics.
Want to save the ported head with bigger valves.

Anyone know the best way to repair it and i can correctly fit the spark next time?

Hello...
Try a heli coil. My father had a couple boat heads (aluminium) done that way, and they were never a problem after that. I think what Carlo is showing is actually a conversion to a smaller diameter sparkplug. You could go that way, but if you decide to keep the original diameter plug that brass or bronze insert might get quite large. It will also be more expensive.

Regards
Robert

The smaller plug size allows for a bit higher compression build if that is useful.

For now we'll try the helicoil.
The nice "Carlo solution" is a possibility when the helicoil won't last.
Thanks.

You could also look into Timesert thread inserts. It is a solid insert instead of coiled wire, it is preferred by many. The good thing is you have the head off so you can dress the chamber side if needed and it keeps the aluminum chips out of the cylinder.
