Hi,
I have recently become the owner of a TT1/2 "project" that is basically complete but needs a bit of lovin to get it rideable. One of the first things will be chain and sprockets. I was wondering if anyone would have an idea of gear ratios that would be suitable for Phillip Island and Broadford??
It is a stock 600sl motor in a Thersby frame running the 18" pantah wheels. It is a little downspec at the moment, but my plan is to get it running and then upgrade as I go along.
Thanks in advance,
Great forum by the way, some awesome bikes...
Richo.

Welcome aboard Richo.
Another TT2 owner in Victoria, excellent.
My TT2 hasn't been raced for a considerable time but the gearing that came with the bike was for Phillip Island and it ran a 15T front sprocket and a 35T Rear now this bike also had a 14T front and a collection of rear sprockets from 32T through to 45T. And it raced at Broadford and Winton, (Almost the same type of track regarding gearing).
Sorry but I can't be more specific than that at the moment.

What I can say is I've raced a lot of different bikes at Broadford and it's just like a true road in that top speed is not that important, especially with a underpowered little Pantah, so gear it for acceleration out of the corners and go from there.

Look forward to seeing you at the track soon.
PS. I'll be at the 2016 Island Classic we'll have to meet up.
Regards,
Lee.
