hello friends, you have to excuse me, because the photos are not in a logical order.

I try to explain the situation: I have worked headers already partially worked.

I did the sleeve for the new candle smallest.

I created the valve guides.

I redid the valve seat by grinding.

Now I assembled the new engine tt1, to see if everything runs perfectly, making the pitches, the squish, valves intersections and widening the intake and exhaust.

I will make new pictures again when I will open my engine block, to finally assemble this project.

Inside I have a drive shaft of a 748R with titanium connecting rods Pankl, and to do this I had to take a rotor of a monster as the notches 900 of the drive shaft are modern.

I mounted a winding of a 916 superbike those inflated with a rotor much lighter.

I plan to do other things ....... but it is better that by the time I shut up ..... ciao Amici Sorry my english!!!

ps. I do not remember who asked me this question, about the resistance of the valve rockers.

I believe that there are problems on the strength of the possible relief, since the desmo does not need to force generated by the retaining spring, and for this reason does very little work the rocker arm for opening and closing. ;)

further wonderfull illustrations, beautifull. Did you alter the valve angle? Or did you leave as original and fit the larger valves? Also ,do you do this work for your living,or for your passion/hobby? I sure would love one of your engines,as would many of us no doubt. This is pure art without a paint brush, but more worthy in my eyes!!

Your words fill me with joy, this is my job, but this engine block is my passion, since I build for my bike.

The Desmo is bread for my teeth !! Thanks of your words !!!

Hi Carlo, I am very much enjoying this thread. As I am not a mechanic/engineer I don't ever get to see an engine getting built, so this is great for me to see. ;)

I am impressed with the titanium connecting rods, what is the weight of standard rods and what is the weight of titanium rods? And how much $ do these rods cost?

Also, what is the reason for using Crankshaft of a 748?
- Does it have a different stroke to standard 750 F1?
- Does it weigh less than standard?
- I suspect it is certainly stronger than a 750 F1 crank because the 748 probably makes well over 100bhp.
- Does it "drop right in"?

Cheers,
MikeA

Thanks for your message.
I'll try to give you some answers.

Crankshaft 748R is almost 300Gr lightest, and his form more evolved from a much more prompt and fast delivery.

The connecting rods Pankl titanium weighs 400g, and are guided by the piston, the axis connecting the titanium connecting rods are distant from each other almost 1mm, zero friction.

The cost of these components is a very sad and dramatic speech.

The crankshaft was given to me by a friend, its price is about 300-400 euro.

The titanium connecting rods buy used cost about 400 euro, the titanium screws, new cost 250 euro each !!

I have had no luck finding them very good use by a team of superbike.

I hope this engine runs very well.

I'm doing other things, though .... top secret !!
