I will speak to the question on the mag wheel preparation as a few of us just finished with this. For years I have stripped/FPI inspected/and zinc chromate primered Mag wheels. The resulting mess and clean-up lead me to a local aircraft repair station. After some initial consulting we set up a wheel overhaul process that is tailored to Magnesuim wheels. The wheels are stripped with glass bead...FPI inspected for cracks and then hot dip coated with a Dow-7 chemical specifically for Mag. That nicely seals them in a dark gray finish until ready for paint. Here in the US the price to do a wheel is aprox $150. dollars. The local comany is PTI industies Inc http://ptiindustries.com I suspect that this service could also be had in other parts of the world with some investigation. -CRanky roller-

Thanks Friends, Your posts are very useful for my work, I ask you one more thing, you have a color code of green magnesium wheels? Maybe I have a friend who has a CAMPAGNOLO that still has its original paint of origin. Grazie Amici. Carlo-

I was born May 26, 1964, and you will not believe it, but my mother gave birth in the clinic Leonardo Da Vinci, just in the country of the great painter, sculptor, inventor. The country Vinci, is 20 kilometers from my home, I'll say it one more peculiarity of this small country. In about 50 years, was made a competition on the road, the Italian Hill Climb Championship, the race started from the small town of Vinci, and arrived about ten kilometers of uphill to a small country even more by the name of S. Baronto, he showed a young man with a Morini 175, and has created a vacuum behind it, giving detachments embarrassing time for the opponents, this young man was about 16 years old, his name is Giacomo Agostini. Carlo.

Today I finished the restoration of my TT2, I made the decision to remove paint the moaaetti aluminum disc brakes, both front and rear. The front legs are back as the originals, since they were painted along with the rims. The latter is magnesium, is a little experience, but I like it as it is. I must say that the bike has changed dramatically, I wanted to replace the brake master cylinder reservoir as the original, now the dashboard is much more clean and reflects the motion then. I am very ideciso removing paint on the rims, I know that its original color is much more clear, but I also photographs of the pilot then with the bike on the track, and the color is the current one. What should I do? You friends what would you do? My wife Antonella, told me to let them do it, given that the bike has competed with that color, as far as the hubs of the disc brakes, I have done well to restore the original anodizing, even if it is lived and a little spoiled. This is his opinion (my wife) Want to see that she's right, this time??
